Training

Your team learns it by running a real project with me, and keeps the method in writing.

  • Marketing
  • Social
  • Event design
  • Partnership identification
  • Playbook & working session

In practice

Some companies want the work taken off their hands. Others want the capability to stay in the building. This page is the second one. I work alongside the people you already employ — marketing, the social accounts, events, finding and shaping partnerships — on your own business rather than a case study, and what we work out stays with you as a document you can follow, not a slide deck.

We start from the goal, not the format: what you are trying to move, and how you will know it moved. Only then do we design the way to get there — and it is not always a campaign or an event. We put it in front of real customers with your team running it, and read what comes back.

Track record

  • The whole US side of La Preferred and its brand PawHalo — a two-person company new to the countryThe company site and the brand site both built and launched, the brand opened across five social platforms, a monthly pop-up with local animal rescues, the SuperZoo booth, the print materials I took into shops and to events, and the product into six local stores. Nobody here had heard of it and there was no track record to point at — which is where most teams start.
  • Grew sales 27% for Sweet Vybz, a San Diego cupcake startupAfter studying their distribution and what competitors offered, I repositioned the product: a more premium presentation, higher prices, wider reach.
  • Won meetings with dozens of faculty and researchers at MIT, Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA, USC and the University of Chicago for 3 Body LabsThe same approach brought La Preferred signed partnerships with three animal rescues.
  • Designed and ran dozens of programs at the US-China Business Training Center — as many as fourteen at onceI decided what each delegation came to study, then lined up the US government agencies, universities and companies that delivered it.

Questions

What does the training cover?

Whichever part of the outward work your team will own: the website, what to publish and where, how a partnership conversation is run, how to read what comes back.

How does it run?

Around a real project of yours, not a slide deck. Your team runs it with me beside them, so the decisions get made by the people who will keep making them.

What do we keep afterwards?

A written method your team can follow without me, and the people who have already done it once.

What is the training based on?

Designing and running dozens of programs at the US-China Business Training Center — as many as fourteen at once.
