About

You run the business. I handle the marketing and secure the partnerships.

Business owners are good at what they offer — the product, the service, the craft. Putting it in front of people is a different job: the website, the social posts, the partnerships. Plenty of owners attempt that part themselves, and I have seen the results: a site that looks broken on every screen, not just the phone, and a social account left quiet for years once the work took over — which is usually where people look you up first. Some of these businesses opened last year. Others have traded for twenty and still lack a site worth showing anyone. That is the part I take on.

I work with owners in English or Chinese, whichever suits you. If English is not your strength, we work in Chinese and I take the American side — which is the part most consultants cannot do.

I don’t make my money on what you can’t see. I’m not afraid of teaching people how to do it themselves. You’ll know what I’m doing and why, and the method goes in writing, not in my head.

Teaching is not a sideline for me. At the US-China Business Training Center I designed and ran dozens of programs — as many as fourteen at once. Every one had the same aim: people went home able to do it themselves.

Most recently, Chief Partnership Officer at La Preferred, a Los Angeles pet products company founded by a couple who came from the logistics business in Beijing. They did not speak English, so the whole US side went through me: the company site and the brand site, partnerships signed with three animal rescues — Priceless Pet Rescue (City of Industry), VIDA Rescue and Pet Rescue Solutions, a monthly pop-up cat cafe, the SuperZoo booth, the print materials I took into shops and to events, the brand launched across five social platforms, and six local stores I approached and won over to carry the product.

Before that, three years in Los Angeles on the American side of it — running the programs Chinese government and business delegations came to the United States for. Up to fourteen at once, held in Los Angeles, New York, Washington D.C., Houston, Chicago, Kansas and elsewhere. I decided what each delegation came to study, then enlisted the US government agencies, universities and companies that hosted them and taught it.

Two ways to work with me

Run it for you

For a business without a marketing team. I take it on long term: campaigns, outreach, partnerships, meetings. You get regular updates, and access to everything I build.

Build it with your team

For a business that has the people. I do it first, then we do it together, then your team runs it. You keep the written method, and the people who have already done it once.

Let's work together

Tell me what you're building. I'll take it from there.
